From a family recipe & love of cooking

FJR founder Taylor grew up in Mississippi, surrounded by the smoke and sizzle of barbecue—his dad was a caterer, and weekends were filled with contests, cookouts, and the sweet-spicy smell of ribs on the smoker.

In college, those traditions stuck. Nearly every weekend, he and his friend Seth Jenkins would fire up the smoker, experimenting with new techniques and fine-tuning the family spice blend that started it all.

After graduation, Taylor moved to Memphis—the epicenter of barbecue—where the art of perfect smoked meat got even sharper. Eventually, that path led him to Dunnellon, Florida, and into the world of BBQ competitions

One contest win turned into another. Then came a call from a NASCAR team, who asked him to cook for their crew at Daytona.

It wasn’t long before the same spice blends used on race day became the backbone of the FJR product line—the very blends we now offer in every bottle.

The name Fixed Just Right was born from his racing days under the name Fenix, Jackson Racing (FJR)—a perfect fit for a line of bold, dialed-in blends.

Today, Taylor runs FJR as a small business with big flavor, crafting award-winning, small-batch spice blends right here in the U.S.

We hope you enjoy every shake, smoke, and sauce—and follow along as we keep creating new blends and sharing the love of cooking with the world.
